The European Commission has launched the first EU-wide cybersecurity certification scheme, as outlined in the EU Cybersecurity Act.
This groundbreaking initiative establishes a comprehensive set of rules for certifying the lifecycle of ICT products, enhancing their trustworthiness for users. Spearheaded by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) and after extensive collaboration with industry experts and member states, this voluntary scheme aims to elevate cyber resilience across Europe.
It complements the Cyber Resilience Act’s mandatory cybersecurity requirements, marking a significant stride towards Europe’s digital sovereignty and leadership. The certification will be officially published and take effect shortly, further supporting the EU’s commitment to secure digital infrastructure and services.
